Hotels
We ask that all
participants make their
own hotel reservations.
Hilton
Hotel & Conference Center The rooms at the
Hilton will be released
after March 19th, so please
make your reservation before then.
We have reserved a block
of 50
rooms at the Hilton Hotel and
Conference Center at the rate
of $85/per night single or double occupancy. Reservations can be made
by calling their toll free number 1-800-445-8667
or the local phone number 1-979-693-7500.
When making your reservation please reference our conference Group
code: CML
or by 2nd Mitchell Symposium. The Hilton does offer
shuttle service to and from our local airport
(Easterwood).
Memorial Student
Center (MSC)
We've also reserved a block of 10
rooms at the Memorial Student Center Hotel. The MSC
is located on campus and is adjacent to Rudder
Tower, where the meetings will
be held. Reservations can be made by calling
(979)845-8909. These
rooms will be
released on March 30th. There is no shuttle service provided.
There are many other
choices with most
of the major hotel/motel chains available in College Station, however,
these are the only ones that we have blocks of rooms reserved.
Some of the hotels are
on Highway 6,
also known as Texas Avenue, which runs past the front of the
university. Others are on University Drive (Highway 60), which
intersect Texas Avenue and run along the north and south edges of the
university.

Lunch
on-campus
The MSC next to the conference site at the Rudder Tower has cafeterias in the basement and on the
1st floor.
Shuttle to
the conference site
The Hitlon hotel
provides a shuttle to/from the conference site. Call
979-693-7500 for
shuttle reservations or sign up at the front desk.
Travel
By Air:
Continental and American
Airlines
service Bryan-College Station with American connecting through Dallas
and Continental going through Houston. The code for our Easterwood
Airport is CLL.
Flight time from Houston
Intercontinental airport is about 40 minutes and from Dallas DFW
airport it's about 1 hour.
Directions for driving
to College
Station:
From Houston
International Airport,
follow I-45 north to Conroe; then take a left onto 105 and follow it
west to Navasota; finally, turn right onto 6 and follow it north to
College Station.
From the
north of Austin, take I-35
north for about 2 miles to 290; then follow 290 east until you reach
21: take 21 northeast; finally, follow the signs to College Station
take exit 47 just outside of Bryan and it will take you Highway
60/University. When 47 dead-ends into 60 you must go left
this will take you into to town and onto campus.
From
the Austin
airport and the south of Austin, take
71 to Bastrop, and then turn onto
Highway 21.
The conference will be held in the MSC/Rudder
Tower Complex following this
